Sunday, I decided to go to church after an awesome week in school… I was able to concentrate on my academics… It didn’t stop me from speaking to Shola everyday…
Monday evening, I called my mum…
Me: Hello ma… Good evening…
Mum: So who’s she? Is it that girl?
Me: Yes ma… She’s the one…
Mum: I knew it… abi why will somebody be crying like that for a best friend…
Me: Mummy, I don’t know what to do exactly..
Mum: What do you want to do…? See this small pikin o… Your dad is very angry at you… and he doesn’t even want to see you anytime soon…. After so much money been spent.. Jide… see what you were able to bring through… Your dad was talking about disowning you… me I don’t even know now… ehn!
Me: Mum, I understand… We were wrong… Very wrong and made the biggest mistake of our lives… but now Mummy, we need a way forward…
Mum: Does her mother know about this yet?
Me: Mummy, she’s about 4 weeks old already… yes her mum knows.
Mum: I’ve to meet her mum… Send me her number!
***She ends the call***
There was a slight bit of hope… so I could get my mind off the situation for a while… and allow the mothers handle the thing…
The evening was getting boring inside the hostel, I was tempted to go out with the boys, possibly find another core… who knows… I contemplated for a few minutes before deciding to stay back… so I brought out my laptop and decided to watch a movie… Final Destination II…I saw how people could die.. At any time…. I didn’t know when I slept off on the movie.. I was awoken by the boys who came back in around 9pm… They were gisting about the fun they had in their outing… and the new drug they tried out in the club… surely, they brought mine for me to try out… without checking the name or asking for what it does… I took 3 tablets… In 30 minutes, I wasn’t myself again… As I laughed uncontrollably like someone who’s on exhibition at “yaba left”… I began jumping up and down and enjoying my laughter.. My guys were just making fun of me… I slept around 2am after an awful night of headache… The morning came sooner than I had expected… I couldn’t get ready for my morning class… so I set myself free until 1pm again…. I brought out my laptop after I was done ironing…
